Another suggestion for keeping your drain lines clean and free of algae is to place Chlorine tablets in your drain pan. These will last at least a month depending on the size you get. Chlorine tablets can be picked up at any Air Conditioning Supply Store or even a Pool Store.
You will need to remove the front of your air handler (indoor unit) to access the drain pan. Simply place a few tablets in the pan and your are done.
