HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!  The weekend is finally here.

Another suggestion for keeping your drain lines clean and free of algae is to place Chlorine tablets in your drain pan.  These will last at least a month depending on the size you get.  Chlorine tablets can be picked up at any Air Conditioning Supply Store or even a Pool Store.

Good Morning.  Another beautiful day on the Gulf Coast.  Its not to hot and humid yet.  Today we are going to talk about drain lines.  But first a note about the Return Air Grills.

I would like to add that if your Return Air Grill is located on a wall close to the floor.  That you should not place any furniture in front of it.  This will block the air flow to your unit and it will not deliver cooled or heated air properly to your home.

Clean Filters

My first tip for preventive maintenance is:

Replace your A/C filters on a monthly basis.  Keeping a clean filter in your Air Conditioner will prolong the life of your A/C, keep your energy expenses down  and ensure your unit is working at its peak performance.

Filters simply keep dust, allergens, dirt particles or debris out of you Air Conditioning System.  The filters can be found either directly below your indoor unit, or in a Return Air Grill, located below your indoor unit or in a remote location in the ceiling.

Filters come in a variety of sizes.  Your size will depend on the size of your return air.

So set a date each month to change your filters.  A Maintained A/C is a Dependable A/C.  Check back for more tips.

Air Conditioning Maintenance

Well it is finally Summer and time to start up those Air Conditioners.  It is always a good idea to have a maintenance check up on your Air Conditioner in Spring.  This is an early detection tool that may help you avoid some costly repairs later.

I will be giving you some home preventive maintenance ideas to help you keep your repairs down also.
